Celebrate the Fourth With Fireworks and More

4th of JulyThere’s no better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than with some fireworks, some good food and tons of family fun. This Fourth of July, there are plenty of great events taking place in the Thompson Lake region. Here’s a look at some of the celebrations plan for you to enjoy this upcoming holiday weekend.

Strawberry Breakfast

On July 2, head out to Bridgton to attend the 23rd annual Strawberry Breakfast, from 7:30-10 a.m. Guests can enjoy a leisurely breakfast of pancakes, French toast, homemade biscuits, cereal, freshly whipped cream and ice cream – all served with fresh local strawberries. Just check out this article from the Conway Daily Sun about last year’s breakfast to get an idea of what to expect. Get into the summer holiday spirit with some delicious breakfast!

Fireworks, Celebrations and More

There are tons of events during the weekend of the Fourth for you to attend in the Thompson Lake region. The Bridgton Fourth of July Independence Day celebration will take place July 3 at the Stevens Brock School. The celebration will begin at 10 a.m., with crafters, food vendors and a community band performing in the gazebo. Fireworks are planned as well, with the show scheduled to take place at 9 p.m.

If you’re closer to the Naples area, you can take in another fireworks show on July 4. This show will be launched from a raft on Long Lake, and is planned to start at 9:15 p.m.

Nearby Bethel will also host its Fourth of July Community Picnic & Portland Brass Quintet Concert on July 4. A free two-hour concert by the Portland Brass Quintet will be followed by a picnic, all held in the side lawn of the Dr. Moses Mason House at 14 Broad St. Bring your lunch and enjoy a picnic concert from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.!

Parades

If you’re interested in attending a parade, check out Freeport’s Fourth of July kick off parade on July 4 as part of L. L. Bean’s annual Summer in the Park celebration. The parade will take place on Main Street, concluding with a free concert in Discovery Park at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks are also planned as part of the Summer in the Park celebration, scheduled to start at 9 p.m.

As you can see, there are tons of events taking place during the Fourth of July weekend! Now all you have to do is choose the ones you want to attend!
