‘Tis the Season for Skiing

Open every day during the winter season, Carter’s X-C Ski Center provides a diverse range of trails that caters to those who prefer no elevation and those who want some hills. If you love downhill skiing, there are plenty of ski resorts nearby to fulfill your need for speed, too. Lost Valley in Auburn, Maine, offers 15 trails and a terrain park for an interesting fun-filled day of skiing for all levels. Open since 1961, this family-friendly ski resort hosts mostly easy and intermediate trails for alpine skiers, as well as 15 km of cross-country skiing trails. Plan your family trip and pick out your ski routes by reviewing Lost Valley’s trail map.
 
In Bridgton, Maine you will find Shawnee Peak! With a vertical drop of 1,300 feet, you are sure to have a thrilling adventure. Check the peak’s mountain report regularly to find out the latest conditions, and plan your trip around which of their 40 trails, seven glades and three terrain parks are open.
 
If you are looking for good family fun, check out Mount Abram in Greenwood, Maine. A perfect destination for children to take beginner’s lessons or spend the day tubing, Mount Abram even offers a daycare service to allow the adults to have a full day on the slopes.
